ELDRITCH HORROR

Working again with DAZ and attempting to use dForce, their thing to simulate the actions of gravity and air resistance on objects. Lots of objects with dForce are kinda buggy, and it's also finicky about accidentally intersecting other objects on the way, and then exploding.

Another test render of the UltraScenery plugin, this time with figures added to it.

I've bought a number of things for DAZ in the past months, more than I've had time to play with. The DAZ store has good sales, and since Thanksgiving has been having some especially good ones that change daily. At any rate, I don't remember exactly when I bought this plugin, but I just started playing with it today and HOLY SHIT...

the military science fiction cover from yesterday is now up and live on Etsy! Will I sell it there? I'm rather doubtful at the moment because most premades up on Etsy are romance, urban fantasy, and thriller but YOU NEVER KNOW.

I did my best Baen Books impression on the typography. XD

I am working on a test render right now. It's a science fiction scene using DAZ sets and props, and characters I frankensteined together from base figures, using skin builders and various hair, customizing their features, costumes, props. etc. And using a lighting scheme I accidentally discovered when doing a SEEKRIT ART PIECE for an upcoming exchange (it will be revealed in due time) and loved.

The render's been going for almost two hours now, and the little history doohickey still says 0% even though there's quite a lot of render visible. There's a metric fuckton of lights and metal surfaces of varying degrees of reflectivity, and it's calculating light rays bouncing off of all of that because I cranked the sampling up for (eventual) quality. Which means it's sloooooooooooow, even on my hot rod of a rig.

I'm trying to put together a small scene in DAZ3D to render in silhouette for an upcoming Celia Lake book, and there's a couple of wearable items in the scene that are dForce, which means you can run a simulation to let gravity and air affect them.

Or, um, maybe not.

I'm watching this, and it's like her dress is slowly eating him...

Anyway, this seems to happen when there's more than one dForce item in the scene. I have no idea how to set it up to affect only one at a time, or how to tell them not to interfere with each other. (Documentation? For DAZ? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahah *inhale* hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha)
