telophase: My cat Sora, alert and somewhat nervous. (Cat - Sora alert)
NONONONO cat. Video of a cat with a distinctive way of complaining. (Yes, the cat is scared - according to the commentary it's freaked out by seeing a child for the first time. It's letting its owner pet it, so it's not fully frightened - there are many of us who bear scars from picking up or touching a completely frightened cat!)

And this is what happens when you open NONONONO Cat in several browser tabs and let them play all at once. It's a crescendo of NONONO Cat.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but here's a video of a leopard trying to hork up a hairball.

Chain reaction of transformers exploding in Fort Worth on Tuesday. (Wasn't near us, this is east of downtown and we're southwest.)

Have a video of a one day old baby pudu.*

telophase: (cat - Sora smug in box)
You may remember how Sora plays fetch. He hasn't done it since the first few months we were in this house, as (a) our bedtime routine changed* and (b) his favorite feathers-onna-stick toy vanished.

He recently found it and pulled it out from wherever it had been hiding, then brought it into the living room and pronmptly shredded all the feathers off of it so it's now a sad-Mylar-streamers-onna-stick toy and there are bits of blue feathers all over the two rugs. And yesterday I was sitting in one of the chairs, and he dragged the stick over to me, which is what he used to do when he wanted to play.** So I played with it and him for quite some time, and threw it for him to fetch a number of times.

He started draggin it around the living room today, first in Toby's general vicinity, but not quite daring to get near to him. And when I went and sat on the couch, he eventually dragged it over to me. We played with it until I threw it, and he went over to it and sat on it, which is his way of saying "I'm tired. No more playing for now."

I filmed one of the fetches. :) You can't see because it's too dark, but when I threw it, it fell behind a small table (that we have a miniature Christmas tree on that needs to be put away) and I wasn't sure he was going to get behind it and pull the stick out without getting distracted and wandering off.

* It used to be "exhaust Sora so he doesn't annoy me during the night when he's bored." Now it's "watch Sora be too paranoid about the bedroom door looking into the hall to play."

** He once even dragged it into the bathroom when I was, let's say, not leaving for a while. XD
