Remember quite a lot of my dreams from this morning, mostly because Sora was demanding attention and kept climbing on me, so I kept staying at the outermost fringes of sleep instead of falling deep and coming back out. (Fun fact: you actually dream during almost every stage of sleep, not just REM, scientists are finding. Citation: a book I read a few months back which I am too lazy sleepy to be arsed to fire up the Kindle and get the name of.)

And I'm not cutting it, so you are forced to scroll past it if you don't care about other people's dreams! Hahahaha!

I'm not going to bother recounting most of it, as what I remember is really fragmented, but the bit that really stuck in my mind, possibly because I recounted it *in the dream* to someone else, was that as I was sitting down beside the side of a road in a store (hey, dream logic), a guy sits down next to me. He grabs the tag on the side of the hood of the grey hoodie I am wearing and says "Hey! Are you bood?" I say "huh?" He says, " bood! Is bood your gamertag?" I say no, I am Telophase. He insists that I am bood and that I should just admit it. Seeing that he wasn't going to leave this alone, I just lied and admitted I was bood. At this point, the dream went on elsewhere (involving coworkers and canoeing down flooded streets and such). I then recounted the bood part of the dream to someone else, as if it had happened. I also looked at the tag on my hoodie, and while it didn't say "bood," the font was such that you could read it as "bood."

I told this other person that the gamer asked my favorite games, and I said "I play a lot of CoD and WoW." He asked what I thought of Mass Effect 3, and I said that I didn't like it very much, that I thought the ending sucked, channeling Toby at this point, as I'd heard him rant enough about the ending that I could appropriate it for myself. He said that was odd, because he'd seen me (the gamertag 'bood') lots of times on ME3. I then borrowed from a friend of ours, Damon, who is not just a gamer but a GAMER and told the guy that when I said I gamed it was on a whole different scale than when he gamed (insinuating that his "played quite a lot" was my "play occasionally").

There seems to be a small theme of people not believing me when I tell them something: at a previous point in the dream, I met a father and his two young boys, and he was trying to remember the name of Darkwing Duck. Seeing me as someone who obviously knew something about cartoons, he kept describing Darkwing Duck to me, but wouldn't believe me when I told him it was Darkwing Duck. I eventually told him "Look, you are remembering one of three things: Darkwing Duck, his evil opposite Negaduck, or his secret identity Drake Mallard." And then the dream went elsewhere, something involving a backpack with my clothes and an external computer battery with a light on it.

I am amazed that Darkwing Duck apparently impacted my mid-20s enough that I can remember all that in the middle of a dream.

I'm currently playing the most recent Professor Layton game, having borrowed Toby's brother's 3DS. (Review of the 3D: it's utterly useless in the game, so I keep it turned off to extend battery power, and they've dome some computer animation to make the characters do more 3D-y movements which takes away from the charm of the game, which had a certain 2D flat animation je ne sais quoi previously.)

Toby realize he hadn't shown me the "Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin?" video for Professor Layton (note: somewhat NSFW and too lazy to go link it). In the game, you spend time tapping over the scenery to find hidden hint coins to help you solve puzzles. In the video, Ash is madly tapping on various things in the room until a coin appears. And now, thanks to this video, every time I find a hint coin, the phrase "Professor just got paid!" springs to mind, unbidden.

I got an ad email from this company that actually contained the claim that this is "The Most Flattering Dress of the Season!" Advertised using this photo.

I just want to grab that model by the hand, drag her over to Kiyonna.com and throw her in a pencil skirt that hits her right below the knee.

There's been some footage released from the first few minutes of the new Trek movie and all I can say is: Uhura is in a skintight bodysuit, but at least Kirk, Sulu, and McCoy are, too.

(The Enterprise is underwater. Are they perhaps wetsuit variations on the uniform?)

I love reading The Dreamstress, who is a historical costumer. Every week she does a Rate the Dress, in which she posts an outfit and the viewers rate it. Today's is a doozy. The one we are to rate is the natty eighteenth-century gentleman on the far right, in the leopard-print breeches and waistcoat.

I cannot decide if the woman to the left of him is leaning back to better appreciate his awesome glory, or in the hopes that it isn't catching.

...in Bennigan's, which claims to be an Irish-inspired pub. They are advertising the County Clare Sampler for an appetizer, which consists of nachos, Hogan's Egg Rolls, and Dubliner Quesadillas.

Also, apparently, no servers assigned to the section we were seated in. :/

Toby and I are watching FMA right now--I wanted to rewatch it before starting on Brotherhood, and convinced Toby he would like it.

I'd forgotten how compelling it is, where each episode ends on a cliffhanger or a question that makes you want to watch the next one to get closure, but which then asks another one to get you to watch another and then you surface at 3 AM having watched 23 straight episodes and totally strung out from the emotional ups and downs.

We've been good at only watching 1 or 2 episodes a night--once watching 3--but it means the cliffhangers are driving Toby nuts. XD He also didn't realize how emotionally wrenching it was going to be, and the other day after a particularly angsty episode, suggested that we watch a more lighthearted anime to recover, like Evangelion.

If you feel like discussing FMA, we're in the middle of the Greed mini-arc. Any spoilers beyond this, please rot13.
