I got an ad email from this company that actually contained the claim that this is "The Most Flattering Dress of the Season!" Advertised using this photo.

I just want to grab that model by the hand, drag her over to Kiyonna.com and throw her in a pencil skirt that hits her right below the knee.

(And all props to Kiyonna.com for having plus models who are ACTUALLY plus size and not size 12/14.)

Yeah--since I've been shopping with them, Kiyonna has used the curvier end of plus-size pro models, and in the past year or two they've starting adding photos of Kiyonna staffers, fashion bloggers, and customers wearing the clothing, along with their height and size, so you can get an idea of what it may look like on you.

Also take a look at igigi.com, which uses actual plus-size pro models.

I'm finding more plus-size stores using plus-size models, but amusingly it often shows how awful the clothing really is! When the PROFESSIONAL MODEL can't make that thing look good, you know it's bad.

(I don't personally enjoy wearing pencil skirts, but just-below-the-knee is my preferred skirt length because I'm short and it seems to be the most congenial length for my height.)

I like pencil skirts that hit below the knee, but it's hard to find what I like without slits up the back--the skirts will always ride up on me as I walk because of my shape and gait, and the slit is always this close to revealing various and sundry undergarments that I'd prefer to remain concealed, or it twists around and ends up at a 4 o'clock position when it ought to be at 6.

I suspect the copywriter was passively-aggressively protesting the fact that she had to make this striped potato sack sound appealing, and the editor either agreed or was too drunk to reject the copy.
