Man, something at Amazon doesn't play well with the latest version of Firefox. I've had multiple crashes in the past few days, all associated with opening Amazon pages. I think it's associated with opening more than one Amazon page in different tabs. I've sent in the Firefox error report every time, hopefully it will be identified and fixed before too long.

Want to do SCIENCE?!

Zooniverse has another crowd-sourcing project going: they need people to help transcribe specimen labels from botanic and insect collections (looks like there's an ornithological one in the works, too).

I've done a couple of the botanic specimens: you get presented with a photo of a specimen with a label. You draw a box around the label, and it enlarges it for you, then leads you though transcribing it one step at a time.

Go! Do SCIENCE!

Spring is in the air!

The breeding pair of cardinals is back, and in between the female's angry flights at the cardinal in the window who is, apparently, intent on taking her man, I have witnessed courtship feeding! Dare I hope for the scratch-scratch of tiny claws soon?

They raised a bouncing baby cowbird last year. I hope they're a little more successful this year.
