Feb. 1st, 2011 12:46 pmNot going to the grocery store after all ... I opened the door to check the road conditions and watched a white truck gently slide down the hill backwards, tires spinning.
We've got plenty of food; we're just low on vegetables. If there was an apocalypse and we couldn't leave for a while, we might get scurvy but we'd be well-fed otherwise. XD

Recipe ideas...

( cut for lists )
There's some other random stuff, too, but listing it requires me going back into the kitchen again and I don't wanna move again. :D
So: ideas?

Got a message from the school: I has a sno day tomorrow, too.
Toby noticed that the street had turned into mostly slush, and had had the sun shining on it for part of the afternoon, so grabbed the chance to make a run to the grocery store before the sun set and everything froze again so WE HAVE VEGETABLES! And POTATOES! And we have a copy of Steven Raichlen's Raichlen's Indoors Grilling, which means that tomorrow, we shall be having coffee-brined pork chops with redeye sauce #3. Mmmmmm. (The brining takes time, which is why we're not having them tonight.)
Tonight: ham, a defrosted container that turned out to contain baked beans*, and Anadama bread.
I shall keep an eye on your suggestions, however, as we certainly have tomorrow's lunch to deal with!
* It was either that or this Cuban black bean thing I'd made some time back. COuldn't get the lid off to check until it had defrosted a bit. :D
