I JUST NOW realized something...
Jun. 7th, 2010 09:39 amOKAY. So a few months back I mentioned Brent Weeks' Night Angel Trilogy in passing. And that
myrialux had been reading them. He's finished them now (report: not the best books evar, but kept him entertained), and had been telling me bits and pieces about them.
One of the things he told me was something that we both don't particularly like: taking two or three Earth cultures and smashing them together without rubbing quite enough serial numbers off of each one. In this particular case, it's having a nation of redheads who carry katana-like swords and live in houses with sliding doors made of paper.
It made me roll my eyes a bit and think "OKAY!" until ...

I just realized EXACTLY WHO THESE PEOPLE MUST BE.

Spring has most definitely sprung...
Jun. 7th, 2010 01:16 pm...today I saw a robin rootling around in the mud near a drain outside, coming up with a beakful of mud and, I assume roots or some other sort of plant matter, and fly away with it. And I just filmed (via my iPhone), two blue jays ripping a paper napkin to shreds outside my window.
Methinks nesting season is upon us.
