I JUST NOW realized something...
OKAY. So a few months back I mentioned Brent Weeks' Night Angel Trilogy in passing. And that ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
myrialux had been reading them. He's finished them now (report: not the best books evar, but kept him entertained), and had been telling me bits and pieces about them.
One of the things he told me was something that we both don't particularly like: taking two or three Earth cultures and smashing them together without rubbing quite enough serial numbers off of each one. In this particular case, it's having a nation of redheads who carry katana-like swords and live in houses with sliding doors made of paper.
It made me roll my eyes a bit and think "OKAY!" until ...
... today.
About ten minutes ago.
I just realized EXACTLY WHO THESE PEOPLE MUST BE.
I THINK I MAY ACTUALLY APPROVE OF THIS

I APPROVE, PERHAPS, EVEN MORE
