Engrish report: Saiyuki Reload Gunlock Ep. 8

This is another non-manga episode.

Redhead slinking up to Gojyo and lighting his cigarette, with what apparently passes for a pickup line in Tougenkyo: Your temper?

actually, I suspect Gojyo considers even "I'll need to see your ID and proof of insurance" a pickup line if it's said to him.

Gojyo passed the tapeworm onto the redhead, since someone says to her: I want you to lead good lives.

Redhead: You fel tit?

Gojyo: I will brink you to some village then.

The redhead says to Gojyo: Can I ask you something?
and he replies, inexplicably: If the kids are also done for.


And now ... we have The Line. This is the line that I predict will cause my comments to explode, because I KNOW YOU GUYS and you have been WAITING FOR IT.

I broke down and signed up at boniblithe's Fandom Christmas Card Exchange. You sign up and in exchange you get a Christmas card from one of three characters you pick. In return, you get assigned a character from a fandom and have to make a card from that fandom and send it off to someone else. You're encouraged to be creative. XD

Sounds like fun, so I did it. There's only two fandoms I feel comfortable enough in to write a number of characters in, but oh well. :D

Engrish report: Saiyuki Reload Gunlock

I realized I managed to skip a couple of episodes off the first DVD - note that the general storyline is so bad that I didn't realize it until four or five episodes later - so I've lsot count and I'm just going to stop numbering them now.

This episode didn't have too much exciting in it.

Hakkai seems to think they're playing golf: Then what are we putting with?

Ok, now they seem to have temporarily translated Hakkai's name as "Mistaken:
Gojyo, to Hakkai: I think you're mistaken, Mistaken.

Sanzo: Shut up, you idiots. This isn't Sanzo's special sales day anyway.



I was supposed to be working on Project Blue Rose, but thanks to a headache I've had all day and dire lack of sleep, that isn't possible because I have zero concentration. I started and did a little bit, but decided the Engrish report was about all I was capable of tonight.

Engrish report: Saiyuki Reload Gunlock

This episode is from the manga, the one with the snow and the kids and ... yeah. I shall endeavor to remain spoiler-free so those who have not read the first Saiyuki Reload book will remain spoiler-free. You guys in the comments? Try to do the same, plzkthx.

However, those who have read the manga will be happy to note that the kids have eyeballs in this episode.


Goku: This is not a place to job!

They are consistently translating "youkai" as "monsters." At least at the beginning. After that they switch to "demon."

Youkai who's working the Wolverine look: General should we eat It taste great after adding wine this hot pot


Kid: Kiyun these guys are guests?
Goku: Backed potatoes?
Wolverine: It's Kiyun

(I assume that what happened there is that "kiyun" must sound something vaguely like "baked potato" in Japanese and Goku was thinking with his stomach again and misheard it. Mind you, in the manga his name is "Yakumo," and that's what people are saying, but it's translated as "Kiyun," thus rendering the baked-potato pun even less comprehensible, I suspect. :D But further confirmation will have to wait for one who speaks whatever flavor of Chinese it is. :)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand then the DVD freezes and won't let me go any farther, or see the other two episodes on it. *cries emo tears* Oh well. Perhaps someone can send them to me via AIM or yousendit or Streamload at some point.
