Just to remind you all - since Mondays are the busiest time on LJ - that you can pre-order the Project Blue Rose: Human Touch anthology, to be shipped in mid-June. :) (I'm being a little vague about the exact ship date, as I have that whole "A-Kon" and then "moving" thing to contend with at the beginning of June.)

Question...

...that I was thinking of this morning on the way to work. Is there fantasy out there, somewhere, that deal with engineers/engineering? Not modern-day settings, and not applying engineering/logical principles to magic*, but things like the Roman army engineers - designing and building siege engines, bridges, forts, etc.

I normally avoid stuff of the 'modern person goes into fantasy world or past' ilk, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it may be the majority of what's available in this area.




* I hate that with the power of a thousand fiery suns. And have ranted about that before.

I did a quick color of my original Gin sketch for someone over on DA to show her how she could give the impression of pale skin when she only has one skin-colored marker, and it's too dark for a pale person.

And damn if that boy ain't pretty. Isn't alway the way that the sketches have WAY more vitality than the inks do?

Quick pimping post before I crash tonight: if you haven't seen them, Emlan's Bleach cast members as dogs pictures are teh_awesome. I especially like the Kenpachi one (duh!) and it was what I was thinking of when I named Renji's chibi "Junkyard Dog." XD

ETA: And, oh yeah, POODLE GRIMMJOW. It totally fits!
