In the mythical future, when I theoretically learn to vid, I have a Yumichika vid in mind. I have a cover - by a male singer - of that hideous song, "Milkshake." And there's a point in it when all the sound stops and there's a little *gling!* sound. The first time I heard it, I knew it was Yumi. :)
I'd also have to learn to drastically cut the song, to about 1/3-1/2 of its already short length, because there's only so far a good joke can go.
The problem is, it needs to be a vaguely complicated cut, because ... er it's been a while since I listened to it, but basically the point where the gling! happens is a good climax, except that I think I'd want one verse or chorus after it, to act as a denouement, and ... er, there's some sort of editing necessary in there, but as I said I'd have to hear it again to remember what I thought would work. XD
When I'm done not reading Tsubasa I'll see if I can find where I got it from. I'm pretty sure the program can actually do all that because I've futzed with some of my mp3 files. (Stuff like trimming applause off the end of a track and fading it down.)
Cool, thanks. :D I think the trouble is that there's an instrumental section after the gling! and I'd want to move the next verse and one repetition of the chorus up to right after it, and then end.
I think I may attempt Kenpachi and Yachiru - in the same pic - tomorrow night. I have NO image in my head, but I think the caption is FIGHT CLUB. Er, this is not a request for an image, just a statement of vague uneasiness, because I haven't had an image for most of these when I start to draw. XD
That'll be my last one for A-Kon. I'll have 12 designs, which sounds like a good round number. I have to start making prints of the new stuff I've made in the past year, and the ones that sold out last year, and to make lots of copies of these ready for punching and keychaining or laminating and punching, as well as the rectangle keychains. Not to mention I *also* have to start matting stuff for the art show, and get the paperwork for that squared up.
And I'm gone from Friday through Sunday to a lake house for a friends' anniversary. If I get the majority of this stuff done Tuesday-Thurs, then I'll stay until Monday, with everyone else. If not, I'll be coming home Sunday to work on stuff Monday.
Let's do the same system we did last year, with every item for sale printed out in columns, so all we have to do to record them is put a tick mark.
I wonder how your new prints will sell. Kitten!Duo is pretty damn cute and cute sells, and realistic Haku is eyecatching. Personally, I want a print of the Renji/Rukia painting to hang over my bed
I'm thinking Renji checking out Rukia's ass tattoo will go over well with the RenRuki shippers. XD
ETA: Work out how we're going to record the specials, for PBR/Spindrift at lkeast, so we know how much money we actually made off of that this year. :)
All three for sure - they're $21 altogether and my brain kinda wants to make that a nice, flat $20, even though it's not much of a special. :D
Should we have one on PBR/HT? Because those who might want to buy HT would need to read PBR? (Well, not *need*, but be better off...) $14 together .. down to what? Or just not bother?
Well, since we're only taking $1 off and the keychains are fairly inexpensive (the major investment is time), I think we're ok on that. Perceived Value of Keychain = $3. Actual Cost of Keychain = $.65ish + lots of cursing as the picture rotates off true over and over again and/or the back flies out of your hands as you're attempting to put it on, or the punch slips and you waste yet another picture, which is TOTALLY WORTH the extra, let me tell you.
I meant, aren't we charging sales tax on the comics? Because we'll have to pay the sales tax. But that could be part of the deal on getting all three: even $20 plus keychain, and sales tax is included in that price.
We didn't do it last year because that meant having to bring coin change. We did $7/each or 2/$12.
Do we want to go ahead and bring coin change and calculators this year? It'd make the final tally and tax-paying much easier, I admit, although the coinage will be a hassle at the con.
I think either we should, or we should raise the prices a bit to cover it. I admit that I cringe at the thought of calculating 8.25 percent for every purchase. I'd rather raise prices on a couple things by 25 cent increments and take the sales tax out of that, so we're at least only dealing in quarters.
Yeah, so we're taking a real loss if we keep the same prices and pay the tax out of our own pockets.
To be honest, I'm worried about me going insane if we start counting out pennies. I'm pretty slow with numbers even with a calculator. Maybe we could round up to exclude pennies, and put up a sign saying "Sales tax included in purchase price?"
What about rounding up for the prints and the books, and keep the keychains and charms at the round numbers. Those will be the ones that we'd have the most trouble with anyway, since people will buy more, but they also have the greatest profit margin, since they're more of an investment of work than cost.
So - prints: $5.50/$11 books: $7.50? (Easier to add if they buy multiples, and the extra on the prints covers the loss on the books?)
Missed the ETA. I think the free keychain is still a good idea. Not that many people will buy all three books anyway, and "free with purchase" is a great gimmick.
Oh, right. Maybe not on the website, then. But let's do it at the con. And you could have a special announcement here that a free keychain will be included with purchases of all three books upon request.

If it's just an mp3, I'm pretty sure I have a program that can cut that part. The vidding, though...I know nothing about.

Can't wait to see chibi Kenpachi. I don't know how you can further chibify Yachiru without turning her into a pink gumdrop.

Probably the best thing would be to have individual listings for specials with space to record what they actually were, ie:
3 keychains / (Gin, Ichigo, Ken)

Prints = $5/$10 - Tax = $.41/.82
Keychains = $3/$4 - Tax = $.33/.25
Charms = $2/3 for $5 - Tax = $.17/.25
Books = $7 - Tax = $.58

Hey, let's put up the special on the website too, with a link to the keychain selection. (When we open mail orders.)
