Bird pictures!

Today's lesson: don't put the camera out when it's really windy as it will take lots of photos of a wildly swinging feeder and shadows gong back and forth. Oh well.

Also, the blue jay came to the windowsill a lot, but not to the feedercam, alas.

I've been playing bird videos on our spare TV (which lives on a wheeled cart for easy transport) almost nonstop every time I'm in my office because they keep the cats transfixed and away from my keyboard and monitor. The best YouTube channel for this I've found is Paul Dinning's channel, a videographer who lives in Cornwall and specializes in videos of small birds feeding and bathing, aimed at cats.

And the rilly rilly important part about this is that I have discovered that European robins are

just

so

darn

adorable

y'all!

OK you Europeans may be wondering why I'm going on about your robins. Take a look at American robins which are NOT THE SAME BIRD to see WHY your robins are JUST SO DARLING in comparison.

Haven't put the birdcam out for a few days as it's been raining. I also have had an intractable tension headache for several days--I thought it was a migraine at first but it hadn't been following my usual migraine pattern, and consultation with my doctor over email produced that diagnosis. So I have instructions to keep taking Excedrin, as that beats back the pain by 90% or so for a while, and muscle relaxants, and to sit against a heating pad, and if nothing changes by next week, come in.

Anyway, here's a few pics from...Saturday? Sunday? morning. I left the birdcam out overnight to see who it would catch in the early hours, and we had a bit of a surprise. XD

Toby bought Far Cry 5 today, and is now happily sneaking around the woods of Montana braining cult members with a lead pipe and giggling.

Left work a little early due to a migraine. Got more pictures with the birdcam which naturally included lots of squirrel, alas. They're the 13 most recent images in this Imgur album, or you can head to my Facebook post if you want my commentary. I'm too headachy to repeat it all over here, alas.

Yeah, the birdcam is not actually far enough from the feeder pole today. XD

Did I get any photos other than a closeup of a squirrel's tail? Find out below.

So I might have put the birdcam a little bit too close to the feeder pole this morning.

I took the day off work as I slept for crap and felt run down (possibly allergies), and instead worked all day doing book covers.

I put the birdcam out and faced it the other direction as the lawn guys came last Thursday, instead of Friday like normal, and I wanted to get it out of the way in case they came this Thursday. So you get to see the attractive gate and the old trash can and broken birdbath the previous owners left here in the background that we haven't got rid of yet.

But! A new visitor!

The birdcam didn't go out yesterday, as my USB hub wasn't charging the power pack and camera.

The birdcam is out today, although at the moment I'm not sure if it's upright or not...
