Box of cat

My cat has completely renounced the cardboard flat she used to sleep in, in favor of a shoebox I brought home a few days ago. As the kitty is slightly larger than the shoebox, the resulting box of cat is rather cute.

And I just ordered $27 worth of food to be delivered because I'm out of caffeine and I reeeeeally don't want to leave the apartment to get more. Why $27? Because if I order $20 worth of food, I get 2 free drinks. So I'm saving $1.84 by ordering enough food to feed me for three days, you see I AM VERY VERY SMRT and it means I don't have to go grocery shopping for three more days if I just run by a convenience store to fill up on caffeine tomorrow.

I like how you talk about caffeine as if it is gas for your car. That's too great! I whole-heartedly agree though. I wish I had a box of cat. That would be nice and snuggly (box included).

Caffeine withdrawal triggers migraines for me, so in a very real sense it is gas for my car. :D And I'm not that addicted to it, either - don't drink coffee, only rarely drink tea; my caffeine consumption is primarily from Diet Dr. Pepper, so my overall intake is less than anyone who drinks more than a couple of cups of coffee a day.

Unfortunately, my box of cat doesn't snuggle. She won't sit on my lap unless I'm giving har treats, and she hates beign picked up with a passion. I have managed to get her to sometimes sleep on my bed if I put a towel down, but she won't snuggle up to me. But she does sit there and look cute a lot. XD

Wowzers on the caffeine. I don't get migraines from not having any caffeine. Only sudden weather changes do that to me.

My kitty used to let me play with the pads on his paws and the would sit on my lap and lick my hands. No matter how many cats I meet at the Humane Society--not a one will let me play with his paws. This makes me sad and miss my cat. Is your cat young? I know that some cats get more snuggly as they get older...

She's round about two - I've had her almost a year (got her from the shelter) and the vet said she was about a year at the time. (that's her in the icon)

She lets me play with her paws a bit, and lets me play with her ears, which amazes me because my mom's cat HATES HATES HATES it if you even get near her ears.

I have hopes she'll one day like sitting in my lap. That's why I started the feed-treats-in-lap thing, so she'll associate my lap with Good Things. Of course the second she realizes that no more treats are forthcoming, she gets the hell off. XD

Well, hopefully when she gets a little older she'll settle down and cuddle. Your kitty is so cute--you know that's what she's saying too! Ha! Here is my kitty. The cat in my other ava is actually a friend's cat.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-11-06 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
Awwww, cute. XD

She actually let me hold her for over 15 seconds the other day before struggling to get down, so I have hopes that one day she will learn the glory that is being cuddled. XD

Our cats are four now, and didn't actually start being lap cats until they were threeish, so there's definitely hope-- they've gotten much more snuggly even this year. It's as though they suddenly realized that they had the option of sitting on people instead of on things that are harder and not as warm. It was pretty sudden, too, and though they'd been touchable at younger ages, they'd had no inclination at all to be actually cuddly. I've had friends tell me this is a normal cat-life-cycle thing, so expect her to start being possibly overly affectionate in another year or so.

I need a cat icon...

Yeah, my cats weren't lap cats until they were a couple years old-- three or four, I think.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-11-06 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, good, I ahve hopes that she'll start liking laps.

I need an icon of my cat that isn't saying "Bitch, please!" so I don't ahve to explain that I'm using it because of the cat and not the comment. :D

That's what happens to me too. Must have caffeine or the migraine will come. I finally found a doctor who agrees with me on that subject. :)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-11-07 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
:D Mine believed me when I first told her, luckily. I found out that a combination of no caffeine, almost no sleep, and very little food is a surefire trigger, which means that I now start almost every con with a migraine. XD

[identity profile] creativemeep.livejournal.com 2005-11-07 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Cons. Sunday mornings at work--they all wonder why I eat out of the machines, and I just say "consider that it's better than me leaving here in 20 minutes."

(awamiba has a new lj)

I used to get PowerBar Harvest bars and eat them for breakfast. Until the day I had the very first migraine that actually made me throw up, instead of jsut feeling sick like most of the others did. I'd unfortunately eaten a Powerbar Harvest bar that morning. Eesh. Now I can't do them quite as much. :D

Kitty pic!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-11-06 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
She's out of the box now and SITTING DIRECTLY ON TOP OF MY PAPER ON THE DRAWING TABLE AND NOT LETTIN ME BOOT HER OFF. Cat, you are not helping.

[identity profile] llamameeljueves.livejournal.com 2005-11-06 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
My cat is the same...You bring a new box, and she goes directly to "try" it. Even if you leave a drawer opened, she jumps in and try how comfy is...lol

At home, if we run out of food, we go...Crap, we have nothing to eat, but if we run out of coffee, we go like...<"Holy crap, we don't have coffee, call the rescue squad or do something ;)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-11-06 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
:D I tend to live mostly out of the clothes dryer and piles of clean clothes on my bed, and the occasional time I open a drawer, she comes running to jump in. XD

When I went last Saturday to care for Kitty, she thought I was you and she was being all lovable. After a good smell, she realized I was NOT you then stormed off and played with Bruce. AFter I cleaned her litter box, washed out her water bowls and refilled her food bowls she let me pet her after she took a bribe of a treat and even then she had to hiss as to say, "YOu are not mother but I will allow you to pet me."

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-11-07 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh dear, poor kitty. XD To get her hopes up so high, then cruelly dash them to the earth!

I'm still a MEEN MEEN person for not letting her go outside, but I finally managed to unstick the window that was painted shut or something, so she got to sit on the windowsill all day yesterday and sniff the outside, which is better than nothing.

I'm feeling vaguely guilty that I have to go to Houston this weekend and leave her alone, but it's just for the weekend, and after that I'm not going anywhere until, like, Christmas.
