AKICILJ/DW: Sewing question
Mar. 19th, 2013 01:38 pmSo, looking for ideas.
I've got pants that don't fit in the waist (as per usual) because I am very hippy and butt-y and something that fits my butt does not fit my waist, and gaps in back. Belts DO NOT HELP as there is enough junk in my trunk that the waistband does not come up high enough in back for a belt to be of any assistance whatsoever: ( cut for representation of what happens )
So. I just got a pair of denim capris that I love. They're pretty good in the back, but not perfect, and the belt solution does not work, as above. (Neither does this, which works on the belt principle, anyway.)
Suggestions? Difficulty level: needs to be hand-sewn as my sewing machine is currently down for the count, so sewing elastic in the back, while probably the best solution, would require me to figure out how to do that by hand.
(I have 3 pairs of Lane Bryant jeans in a make they no longer produce that fit me PERFECTLY. You will pry them out of my cold, dead hands. One is already developing holes, sigh. I also have a couple of pairs of drawstring jeans that are a size too small in reserve in case I lose weight and can't fit into the LB ones.)
