telophase: (manji - not happy)
Thanks to tropical storm whoozit on the coast, there's rain happening here, which I blame for my headache. I am hoping it is not a migraine, and have embarked upon a plan of caffeine, calories, and ibuprofen to fight it. If not, well, I can always go home and sleep.

Yesterday I successfully made a bag from the pattern I created! Woo! OK, so the inside pocket is a little low, but that's easily fixed on the next one. Next step: scan the pattern pieces and transform them into a PDF pattern, write up the instructions (possibly with explanatory photos), and ask for a volunteer or two to make it for me and let me know if it works out for them. If so, then I plan on also throwing the pattern up for sale on Etsy or somewhere - might as well get what I can from it. :)
telophase: (Near - que?)
Does anyone out there know of a wrap cardigan like this one, only (a) less than $50 and (b) in size 22/24?

The important parts are:

(a) waist-length or shorter, because I'm looking for something like this to wear with dresses/long skirts, and as I am short, a longer one overwhelms me and make me look like a tent*

(b) has that wrap part that ties around the waist and defines the form, as a straight bolero, which I own, merely falls directly to my butt from my shoulders and contributes to that whole tent effect.

* I lived through the 80s, when that sort of thing was in style. I looked like a tent then, too.
