I'm going to indulge in a small "w00t"...

...because I managed to get 2 years' hosting at DreamHost for half fucking price, man. It was simple enough - they offer referral programs where you can set up promo codes for new customers to get money off their plans, and many of the poeple who post in the DreamHost support forums - where I read a lot to see what sort of problems people had with DH before jumping in - put their promo codes in their sigs. It was a simple matter of picking the one who offered the most amount of money off - $97 - and using that one. So two years of hosting equals $3.87/month for me. Sweet!

And I went ahead and registered a domain name with them - they offer one free - and in the interests of dramatic suspense, and because the DNS will take a couple of days to propagate worldwide, I'm going to have ... a poll! (Bet you didn't see that one coming, huh?)

Anyway, in a few days, once I've felt my way around the place and the DNS has propagated, I'll be open to host subdomains for people I know who want one.


ETA: I just took a look back at my poll of earlier today. WHY NO LOVE FOR KOUMYO, MAN? KOUMYO WILL MAKE A SAD LITTLE FROWNY FACE AT YOU AND SIGH!

History Detectives

Several months ago I posted saying that the crew from PBS' History Detectives was filming in the Gearhart Reading Room here at my library. I just found out that the segment is airing tonight, 8 PM Cetnral. It's the segment on the Chisolm Trail, I believe.

Mind you, I'm going to be in Italian class and will therefore completely miss it. :)
