An email to the Gateway helpdesk worked wonders - they told me how to re-install the memory card reader's driver, and after a restart, it's working! Not that I have many photos! And I'm only posting a select few!

Am supposed to fly home Thursday evening. Am flying American. An MD-80. SEND VERY VERY VERY GOOD THOUGHTS MY WAY THAT THE TRIP HOME WILL ACTUALLY HAPPEN.
