[personal profile] estara created a DW feed from the Wordpress RSS feed of the travel blog, so if you don't want to follow us over there, via email, or via Twitter or Facebook, you can subscribe to the feed. Note: I won't see any comments posted there (I could set up an alert, but I'd have to manually subscribe to each and every post, and that's just not happening), so you'll have to post any comments you have over on the blog, Facebook, or Twitter.

Looks like I can't find any services or plugins that crosspost from Wordpress to Dreamwidth right now as my old standby plugin no longer works, and the only other plugin I can find also doesn't work.

Which means that if you want to follow Toby and I on our trip to Europe coming up in a few weeks, you're going to have to use one of these, unless I find something else:

If you'd rather have notifications sent to your inbox, you can sign up using the form in the sidebar of the travel.mushtee.com blog and it'll send you an email every time either of us posts something there.

Anyway, given how little traffic happens here nowadays, I suspect not that many people will be missing it. :)

After staring at a map of Switzerland for far too long, and weighing the number of days we'd allotted to the country, the various train journeys we needed or wanted to take, exactly how often we wanted to hump our luggage through various train stations*, how much we hated changing domiciles frequently, and the least painful route to take to Venice from Switzerland, I came up with a plan.

I've mentioned before I think that we're booking a trip to Switzerland and Northern Italy (going to be circumspect about the actual dates for now), and I want you to know that I have just booked:

(1) an apartment in Venice that overlooks the lagoon and has a tiny private rooftop terrace, as well as an elevator in the building AND a washer and dryer

(2) a hotel in a former monastery in Vatican City that is actually ON St. Peter's Square

Now to see if I can find something cool in Florence.
