Well, obviously, I need to nominate JoJo Bizarre's Adventure because if that's not an obscure fandom, I don't what is.

Wow, there are some things on that nominated list from last year that fill me with glee (P.C. Hodgell's Kencyrath series!!* Rosemary Sutcliff's "Eagle of the Ninth" series! The Lymond Chronicles!) and some that fill me with a certain amount of horror (Winnie the Pooh!? Ballet Shoes?! ... mind bleach please!)

Hmmm ... I'll have to come back to this ... I think I might do it.

Heh, I need a blushing icon ... you can tell what kinda fanfics I've been reading ... (does anyone else here blush when they're all by themselves?).

Thanks for setting me straight ... I first came across Yuletide Treasure way before I was doing anything much with fic or LiveJournal, via a Google hit on a "Dark Is Rising" fic that was well-written but not for the under-18 crowd (and LJ would probably ban the author, in these times). So I was jumping to the wrong conclusions here ... >still blushing<.

Oh, no, I don't blame you after the some of the infamous things that have been posted! I just was looking at bookmarks recently when procrastinating and was reminded that it was a nice story.

Actually, on the way home, I started spinning a Ballet Shoes fic myself ... Petrova was always a very important character to me, and there's always some element of "and what happened after that?" with a favorite character. But I can't say that I ever felt that way about Pooh ... .

"Slave Bear of Care-A-Lot" scarred everyone, apparently.

You can narrow down what you're willing to write, to a certain extent, and most people are pretty flexible in their requests, ie, even if they'd really like Kindrie/Torisen porn, they'd settle for a gen piece about their relationship as established canonically.

I think what bothers me about it (and I've seen several attempts) is the way that everyone either castrates Tori's brain or really shortchanges the healing process he'd need to deal with a Shanir - and that's before we even get to the issue of whether he's into guys ... .
