Nice pics! Everybody looked like they were having a good time (except Aerith). That smoking angel is from Haibane Renmei. It was cute (but not sickly like Sugar Fairy or Digicharat) and full of atmosphere, but I couldn't get into it for some reason.
I think that's because atmosphere was about all it had ;) If there was any sort of plot, I never saw one. The characters were kind of blah, too. Maybe it got better later, but that's like listening to people say that Baten Kaitos got better later - you still have to sit through a lot of junk... Well, that's just my opinion, obviously. Your mileage may vary...
After a bit of thought, I realized you hit the nail on where my tastes lie. Initially, I thought not everything I like has a lot of action (Saiunkoku, for example). Then, I realized that it is pretty much true - not stuff like Akira or Fist of the North Star, but still with a fair amount of action. Thanks for the insight :)
I'm totally in the "loved it" category and wish there had been more. Oh, and DSC_0047 is definitively Reki from Haibane Renmei. The sweater-vest is a tiny bit ambiguous but not the smoking and in particular not the stained wings. Reki for sure.
I think it was about right. I mean, if there were more, that would be great, but I also like how it ended strong, and explained a bunch but still left lots of questions unanswered.
I hear there's a Neia_7 crossover into Haibane Renmei doujinshi. That might be fun....
BTW, in your cosplayers on phones, the person behind the one cosplaying Lloyd Irving is cosplaying Yuan from Tales of Symphonia. Just thought I'd mention that since you have a commission involving Yuan :)
Cool picture. I love the Hughes and Gracia with pics :)
Haibane Renmei is slow, thoughtful and atmospheric, and the plot is psychological rather than action-based. I think it's phenomenally good - up there with Utena and FMA, in the category of shows that will Last.
I've often thought it would also make a good introduction to anime, for an intellectual type looking to see what the big deal is or why they should let their kids watch this stuff.
Dude, weird. I learned that one COULD commission OC art from artists at cons from someone who always made character sheets, so I guess I assumed it was a matter of course. o_o I can't understand why someone wouldn't, unless it was just a matter of not having any art of said OC to begin with.
Bah. I have several OCs with fairly complex appearances, but I've never got annoyed at an artist.
Hell one year I got a beautiful commission from someone, before I had proper character sheets, and I forgot to specify that the bishounen was male... so he had boobs. XD;
No matter, I photoshopped them out cleanly for the web gallery and still treasure the piece. It is lovely.
Oh yeah, I read the official translations of the manga, and then watched the anime. Since that seemed pretty faithful to the manga, I didn't read past the official translations.
That Roy Mustang really looks like Roy! Well, a good enough likeness to a drawn character to not make much difference at least *grin* I also laughed once I realised what that doll was the three Advent Children guys had, though I didn't understand until the on the sword picture. :)

Someone gave me a photograph of a rock star to draw, and people are getting better at having reference for anime characters, but not for originals.

Ed needs to get on his knees -- I don't think he should be taller than Lust!
I wonder if Wee!Kakashi has the undermask :)
(Are there new chapters or volumes of Naruto out after the time-skip? Are there, are there, are there?)
I vote that the smoking winged one is Reki from Haibane Renmei, which you desperately must go watch.

I've been bad about keeping up with it, but I think they're on chapter 321 or so (if that helps).

Obviously, that must be rectified!
