Interesting article on the business side of the U.S. anime market, from Fortune magazine.
sartorias and her commentors are pondering the age-old question of gender relations, mosre specifically, who does and who does not subscribe to the old adage that men and women cannot be platonic friends (partly generational, partly cultural).
And combining elements of the two links above, we have
louiselux bending her mind and her poll-making skills to the eternally important question of "Is Sanzo a virgin?" Go vote! The fate of the free world is at stake! (a small followup post, in which we learn a disturbing fact about Hakkai).

That guy's idea of letting fans be able to download an episode for 4 bucks from ADV's website instead of buying a DVD for 30 is awesome though, if they can get that to somehow work, god it'd be like a dream come true =*-*=

Ahahaha. Why am I not surprised? Well actually, I am a little bit - I certainly wouldn't buy a dvd because I'd heard the translation was off, so I'm suprised that it actually worked to increase sales. But still, they deserve credit for their insight I suppose. And it's interesting to see the Fortune article go into depth about the fansubbing process and the tolerant, if not actually positive, attitude of the industry towards them.

Is there anything about Hakkai that isn't disturbing?
(Not that I don't love his homicidal creepy smiling-self to death, mind you...)
