So you're strolling through this Tuscan villa-inspired house, open a door, and boom! Alchemy room.
ngl, if I wanted to live near Chicago and had $2.2M, I'd totally get it. Our budget is a wee bit less than that, though.

It would be wonderful fun to paint reproduction (and NEW) Herculaneum/Pompeii frescoes all over this house!

There are 5 beds, and 5.5 baths, and 6404 square feet. I expect everyone to want alchemy room privileges. If they are 5 parties (some of which are couples), that's still 1 bed, 1+ bath, and 1280 square feet per party, for $440K per party.
Hm, property taxes, utilities, and upkeep will also take out a big bite. Still could be hard to swing, but definitely more doable that $2.2M.

I started scrolling through the photos without reading the description, and I thought "I wonder if I'll know which room she was talking about when I see it?"
YEP.

The alchemy room is great, and I'm trying to restrain myself from figuring out what the quote in Greek is. (My Greek is rusty, and more to the point my eyes are complaining about eye strain.)

They had some nice furniture, but it was odd how some parts were well staged, and others were like, folding chair in the sunroom.
