Sunday's new experience
Jun. 27th, 2022 02:30 pmOn Sunday we went out shopping and stopped by McDonalds for breakfast. It's fairly new, built in early 2020 or so, and we'd never been inside. That's not the new experience. It's got those touch-sensitive screens that you can order from so the franchiser doesn't have to pay someone a paltry amount to take your order. That's not new to us, either.
We had ordered at the screens, taken a numbered table marker and seated ourselves at one of the surprisingly few tables (I'm thinking this location, near a highway, was intended for mostly drive-through business). myrialux head an odd voice say "Food is on the way," looked up and watched something approach that I didn't see, being head-down in doomscrolling Reddit, until it was at my elbow.
