Headache (one of those bad tension ones, not a migraine) sent me home yesterday. Its dregs are still hanging around today and I have a bit of a hangover from the muscle relaxer I took last night, but I'm upright and at work.

We ended up watching the 1974 version of Murder on the Orient Express last night. I spent quite a lot of time looking up the actors' birth dates and working out how old they were at the time of shooting and marveling at how much older the ones near our age looked than us and our friends do now. Sun and smoking will do that to you. Anyway, a perfectly serviceable version. [personal profile] myrialux enjoys the art direction of a lot of the shots (it was his second time watching it), I enjoyed the fusion of 1930s and 1970s clothing and hair, and we both hated Albert Finney's portrayal of Hercule Poirot. (In one scene he scoops a pair of Pekinese dogs off a train seat, hands them to another person, and plops down onto the vacated seat. The Poirot I know would not have dreamed of getting dog hair on his suit!)

Nefer has gotten wilier at avoiding the anti-nausea pill we tuck into a bit of food (squeeze cheese mixed wit a bit of tuna, two things she loves), which is the only thing that keeps her from throwing up frequently. She's also near-impossible to pill the traditional way, and she'd lost a bit of weight, so the vet gave us a new med to try. It's a transdermal one that we rub on the inside of her ear, and is an appetite stimulant with a side effect of anti-nausea. As the doc said, she has no problems giving an elderly cat that's been losing weight an appetite stimulant. So far, no horking in the last 4 days, and the wet food we give them daily has been disappearing a lot more than it used to, so we are cautiously optimistic.

Hopefully she tolerates us rubbing it into her ear. Fingers crossed!

[personal profile] myrialux went out of town this weekend so I took over cat feeding duties. Here is 23 seconds of Sora being perturbed that I am recording him instead of feeding him.
