Redshirts, by John Scalzi: Fun read. It sort-of went where I expected it to, but it was a fun ride getting there, so I wasn't disappointed. And the Three Codas at the end -- basically, three additional short stories that move on from the events of the novel -- take the time to explore the philosophical and emotional aspects of the story that the story itself didn't get to do (because they would have been out of place and from the wrong characters' P.O.V.)

Enjoyable.

Not that you guys were aware I had a Zazzle shop*, but I moved my "part of the problem" T-shirt over to Printfection. Feast your eyes on a kabillion different shirts with that phrase on them. Sorry about the prices, but I've got them set so I'm getting a whopping $4 profit on each shirt, mostly because I don't actually expect to sell any. :) If you poke around, you can find somewhat more reasonably priced ones in the morass of shirts on the site. (I need to edit them but frankly, I don't ahve teh time at the moment :D).

I may need to make a "306.7 DO ME DEWEY" shirt for there.

* I sold one T-shirt and 2 buttons in the past 4 years! I ahve $8.72 sitting in their coffers, but they won't pay me until I have $50 sitting in their coffers. Bah. Printfection does it at $25, which is probably equally unattainable. Maybe I could put old non-fanart prints of mine on T-shirts?

Whoa!

Blast from the past - someone found my old costuming site and asked if I still do costume commissions! As she's interested in an Anthy costume, and I did a full cost/process breakdown for the one I did ALMOST TEN YEARS AGO, I am seriously considering doing it. (And she doesn't need it until next A-Kon! LOTS OF TIME OMG.)

And I think I'd be able to source so much more of the bits and bobs on the intartubes now, so it would hopefully be better.

Right.

ETA: First came, and first served. Keep an eye on this space (er, this journal) for the next slot! XD

So ... is there anyone out there who'd like an art commission? Because I'm looking at expensive camera (1) bags (2) and I really don't want to drop what cash I have now on one or two* and that costume commission, if it happens, won't happen until fall.

Can't start this weekend, as we're visiting family. And first-come, first-serve as I don't want to create a waiting list because I tend to disappoint people when I have a waiting list oh dear god i just realized i have, like, two-year-old commissions waiting from charity auctions AAAaUUUGGHHHH!.

* I like the traditional one because it's got multiple carrying options and is good for long-haul things, like trips involving airports, but I like the girly ones because they don't look like camera bags.
