So ... is there anyone out there who'd like an art commission? Because I'm looking at expensive camera (1) bags (2) and I really don't want to drop what cash I have now on one or two* and that costume commission, if it happens, won't happen until fall.

Can't start this weekend, as we're visiting family. And first-come, first-serve as I don't want to create a waiting list because I tend to disappoint people when I have a waiting list oh dear god i just realized i have, like, two-year-old commissions waiting from charity auctions AAAaUUUGGHHHH!.





* I like the traditional one because it's got multiple carrying options and is good for long-haul things, like trips involving airports, but I like the girly ones because they don't look like camera bags.

I've got a spare Gura Gear Chobe bag, brand new, if you're interested in it. It's a trunk style, not the backpack, and black only, not girly.

If you're not interested in *that*, allow me to strongly, STRONGLY recommend Gura Gear Kiboko backpacks. I have bought and used several camera bags now, including a LowePro waterproof, and have decided that the 22l Kiboko is the One True Bag, and it's carry-on sized.

What I like about the Kata bag is that it's smaller than a backpack (although not by a whole lot, as I need to fit an iPad or, perhaps eventually, a small netbook in there, and it needs to fit my camera while it's still got the long lens on it), it's got multiple carrying options, and if I wear it in the sling fashion, I can quickly and easily pull it around to my front, unzip it and remove my camera, take the shot, put it back, and push the bag behind me again, so I don't have to be carrying the weight of the camera in my hands or around my neck while I'm still actively taking shots.

I just realized that what I could do is create a mailing list and with people who want to commission me - when I'm ready to do one, I send out a message there and whoever grabs it first (provided they didn't get the previous one!) gets it. It might work a little easier than announcing on LJ. Hm.
