I'm not sure what the cats did, but there's now a big scratch on my left lens. I guess I'm getting new lenses in my glasses.
At some point this morning after the alarm went off and after I'd turned on the bedside light but before I got up, so I was dozing with my face turned towards the light in a vague attempt to wake up, the cats, sitting at the end of the bed, had a spat or something that ended up with Nefer running across me and onto the bedside table, knocking a bunch of stuff around, although nothing fell off.
I didn't notice anything on my glasses until I started the drive this morning, because small scratches and dirt on your glasses tend to go unnoticed if you're looking at objects with complex shapes, like the average house interior, only showing up when you're looking at an expanse of not much, like a sky or the background of a computer screen. But there's now a huge scratch across it, one of those made of lots of little scratches, and now that I've seen it, it's hard to un-see.
Ah well, I'd had them 2 years and I need to go in anyway as my near vision has deteriorated enough over those two years that the comfortable position I hold my hands when doing close work like hand sewing or painting my nails is about six inches closer to my face that the position at which I can focus. So .... bifocals or reading glasses?
