Also, I had an urge to make cinnamon rolls, but the problem is that all recipes I can find make approximately one billion rolls, and not only are there just two of us, but we're both watching what we eat and having a bunch of cinnamon rolls hanging around is not s good idea. I don't want to freeze any, as we are rapidly running out of freezer space.

I dug out my old standby for small amounts of sweet treats, Small Batch Baking, but it calls for boxed 'hot roll mix', which we don't have any of, nor any idea what's in it, so can't even fake it.

Aaaaargh!

Interested in pro animation software for cheap? pmG is trying out a viral test marketing campaign and if they reach their goal, everyone gets the software for what they paid. If they don't reach their goal, everyone gets their money refunded. More details on this page. You've probably seen their work before, even if you don't know it. :) Gallery of shorts done with the software, both 2D and 3D, and it includes one of the Gorillaz videos done on it.

Did I mention the basic edition of messiahStudio5, normally $499, is on sale through this for $10? And the pro edition, normally $1195, is on sale through this for $40?

I ended up getting (if the target goal makes!) the Pro version, as I'm running a 64-bit system and the Basic requires 32-bit, while Pro can do both.

arg!

So to take advantage of the snow day, I spent an hour and a half or so this afternoon messing about with my perfume components, creating a heart-note accord and a couple of top-note ones, and testing some scent samples from Luxury Lane Soaps, which I hadn't tested yet since I wanted to go through my BPAL ones and figure out what it was that I was allergic to before going to another company's scents.

And you've probably figured it out by now: I am currently sniffing and sneezing. Aargh. With no way of telling which one is at fault.

The only component I know I was working with that is in Phantom Time Hypothesis is benzoin, so I guess tomorrow I get to perfume myself with a drop or two of that, and see if I start sniffling and sneezing later on. :P

So Toby got a vodka infusion kit from my mom for Christmas a year ago, and has made the occasional infused vodka since. Tonight as an experiment, he made an espresso-infused vodka from a recipe I found online. He only made a cup and a half of it, which us good, because it's pretty harsh. :) We both agree it would be much better mixed into something, but neither if us are having much luck considering what. So I turn to you, o intartubes! Ideas for things in which to use an espresso-flavored vodka would be welcomed, be they drink or food! I suspect something like the miniature Kentucky Derby Winners Circle pies I made today might work--think pecan pies with chocolate and a touch of bourbon. Since coffee goes well with chocolate, replacing the tablespoon of bourbon* with a tablespoon or less of this stuff might make it a mocha pecan pie. Hmmmmm.

* ok, Welsh whisky, Penderyn, because we have no bourbon. It was YUMMY.
