Apparently I'm in the mood for them after reading Belinda Carlisle's and being about 3/4 of the way through Pat Benatar's.

I didn't like Ruth Reichl's or Augusten Burrough's memoirs much, for whatever reason.

Biographies are ok also.

Bonus points if it's a chef, or concerns the 1920s.

Wake up at 5:30 AM with a headache. Lie there thinking about how much I need to get up and take a Relpax or at least some Advil, then fall back asleep.
It continues from there, in unexpected ways. Also, Roomba. )

...you will laugh, cry, and nod your head sadly in recognition at this thread: "favorite" student emails.

(I am on page 16 of the EIGHT HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SIX PAGE thread, which has been active since 2006. It features a letter with this paragraph: "That is unexculpable, because in point of fact you knew that it would be impossible for the entire class to bring a copy of the text to class today. To that end it is also possible for students to share the text outside of class, however there is no way this can be reflected in your quiz.")
