An intersting video demonstrating turning off the speech center of the brain temporarily using a magnetic field. The technique may have use as a migraine therapy in the future, apparently.

Accomplished so far...

1) Scheduled movers for Wednesday, using somewhat-expensive off-duty firefighters because EVERYONE at work recommended them.

2) Called closest Banfield vet outlet to new place and arranged for cat's records to be transferred over to there, and for her to have her 6-month checkup on Wednesday, so I can drop her off there and pick her up after the move in order to lessen trauma. Although it's a toss-up as to whether a vet visit or strange men tromping through her house is more traumatic. :D

3) Bought basket for stickers in art show

4) Bought BUCKET of chocolate coins - over 2 pounds for $10 - to give to purchasers at A-Kon.

Nobody in town wants a metal futon frame and slightly-stained black futon mattress, do they?

I must pick up Death Note swag for the newest reference librarian here at work. When she found out I was going to A-Kon, she mentioned that she'd started watching Death Note, but quit because she found herself too attracted to L and it kind of freaked her out. XD (She laughed, not nervously, as she said it - she's one of those very outgoing, funny people.) But she wanted to know how the story went, and I told her she needed to read the manga. I also promised her I'd hook her up with some DN swag. Hopefully I can find her some L stuff to dream over. XD
