So I'm still watching stuff at crunchyroll.com (biwa-playing demon fish!) and there's a horror anthology drama series called 100 Tales of Horror. I'm watching the episode called "A Ghost Tale of Genji" because - dude, Genji. From seeing five minutes of another episode, I think that the thing connecting all the episodes is the presence of this one exorcist/priest character from the samurai era. He and his daughter are watching a play about Genji, and he somehow gets thrown back in time (or thrown into the book) during the Rokujo Lady section. It's sort of amusing watching him accuse Genji's retainers of being fictional.

But I can't tell whether I'm watching a show that's playing fast and loose with the story or one where the translators aren't familiar with the original, or both. Genji's way too in love with Aoi at this point and the Rokujo lady refers to herself as being in Genji's harem, and there's a scene where Rokujo and her retinue meet with Aoi and her retinue and the ladies-in-waiting argue about who has precedence and Aoi's lady says that she's bearing the *sovereign's* child. Bzuh? And there's a weirdness where Genji's retainer is talking about getting an exorcist, and he mentions the exorcist by name, and he distinctly *says* "Seimei" but it's translated as something else entirely. Hrm.

Oh well. Back to Gokusen.

And Genji is *so* not the most attractive man evar in this. He's pretty ordinary.

Note to self: combination of Relpax* in the morning, and glass of wine in the evening, plus hot bath = serious scary case of light-headedness when get out of bath. Avoid combination in future.
