telophase: (Mello - inferiority)
Hello everyone! I've just gotten my new Copic marker set and I reeeeeeeally wanna try them out. But I've got TEH SEKRIT PROJEKT to work on like mad all weekend. So in between bouts of sitting around thinking really hard about doing TSP, I've done up the following. 'Tis my Carrot onna Stick because I get to work at it in between bouts of TSP if I am a good girl. It needs to be printed out, lightboxed and inked onto the appropriate paper, then colored, so with luck it'll get me through the weekend.

I'm using my Japanese-text marker book with this, doing my best to figure out what it's talking about by following the pictures. Not especially easy. What I really wanna know is: what paper?!

Mua-ha-ha-ha!

Have just dropped the dosh* on a Copic A3 size marker pad so that I can do a niiiice big version of that Gojyo pic for the art show at AnimeFest. Plus, the picture in the marker book shows them using a big sheet of paper, and it'll be easier to do details like eyes when I do it big. I think the size they're using in the marker book is A2, and it'd cost me $60 to get a pad in A2, and I am so not going to do that unless I specialize in marker for a while - maybe for A-Kon if I get more practice in by then. A3's a nice big size, though, and the finished result will fit nicely into the 16x20" (opening 10x14") mats that are the biggest they sell at Hobby Lobby - A3 is very roughly the equivalent of 11x17".

*"Dosh" or "doss"? I think dosh is money while doss means to settle down and sleep somewhere for a night. Not intrigued enough to look it up at the moment, though.
