Your characters have feet. It would be nice to occasionally see them. None of us live in a world where we only see people from the mid-thigh up. Also please choose camera angles other than straight-on-shoulder-level periodically. It makes it look so much nicer.
(Yes, I'm going through Rumble Pak and Sakura Pak.)

[ Edit: This was the first essay I wrote and desperately needs to be edited and reworded. And one thing that I think needs to be clarified is my use of the word "amateur." Way too many people think that "amatuer" is something worse than "professional," which isn't the case at all. My use of the word in this essay is meant only to distinguish the amount of time that one mangaka has been at his craft from the much, much longer amount of time that another has. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me to clarify. ]
At the request of
coffee_and_ink, some blathering on about why and how manga pages work. Images in it, with at least one image about 200K - slow-modem users beware.
Not that I've even got to SAIYUKI and FRUITS BASKET yet, which is what she asked for. I'm going to hit DRAGONBALL Z first, for reasons you'll shortly understand.

Mar. 16th, 2005 10:33 pmI've just noticed that I have three four Mel/Mely type people on my friendslist,
coffee_and_ink, Mely;
melster, Meli;
merethien, Mel; amd
xplodingirl, Mellie. Are you all named Melinda, and is this some sort of omen?

P.S. Yes, I'm starting in to work on Part 2 of what's looking like a 3-part series on manga art. :)
rachelmanija, this is DEEPLY, DEEPLY helping me with figuring out layout, so it's by no means taking away from any of my actual manga-ing. I've wanted to go analyze more for a while; it's been too long since I did that with a chapter of Blade of the Immortal and I'm losing my grasp of what's what.
