(no subject)

I've just noticed that I have three four Mel/Mely type people on my friendslist, [livejournal.com profile] coffee_and_ink, Mely; [livejournal.com profile] melster, Meli; [livejournal.com profile] merethien, Mel; amd [livejournal.com profile] xplodingirl, Mellie. Are you all named Melinda, and is this some sort of omen?

P.S. Yes, I'm starting in to work on Part 2 of what's looking like a 3-part series on manga art. :) [livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija, this is DEEPLY, DEEPLY helping me with figuring out layout, so it's by no means taking away from any of my actual manga-ing. I've wanted to go analyze more for a while; it's been too long since I did that with a chapter of Blade of the Immortal and I'm losing my grasp of what's what.

i'm a meliie o.o

[identity profile] tokyoghoststory.livejournal.com 2005-03-17 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
or a mellie. or a melly, mellay, meli....

[i wish i could spell my own name right o.o *sighs at previous incarnation of meliie]

FOUR?? Maybe I should just change my name to Mel if it'd make it easier on everyone.

I've typed "Stepahnie" so many times it's not even funny.

hahah somehow i dislike mel. it reminds me of mel gibson and not myself for some reason. my name is technically melissa-nicole but i'm the queen of pseduonyms (melissamalice, xplodinggirl, fleece, scabface, abysmal, mimura_bones...)

but yeah. four mellie's in the house.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-03-17 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Ha - I didn't even think of Melissa, which is more popular than Melinda. It's just that I know [livejournal.com profile] merethien is a Melinda, and that's all I thought of at the time.

[identity profile] tokyoghoststory.livejournal.com 2005-03-17 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
melanie's a good one too. hahah. my name is just long and complex. no one really wants to go around saying "melissa-nicole, get over here!" it sounds silly. Mel-anything is an excellent naming choice. muahaha.

[identity profile] melster.livejournal.com 2005-03-17 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, yeah. I'm just a Melissa. :p

[identity profile] tokyoghoststory.livejournal.com 2005-03-17 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
yay for melissa's <3

man your icon is amusing...

[identity profile] melster.livejournal.com 2005-03-17 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
hehe, thanks. I stole it from somewhere, and i'm SO glad I did... :)

-Meli (gee, because that clears up a lot in THIS thread :p)

Just so long as it, like everything else in your life, has the ultimate goal of the betterment of our manga, I'm cool with it.

O dear God it is doing so. You will not BELIEVE how much subtext I have found in these two pages of Saiyuki.

Not the sort of subtext your mind has just leapt to, alas, but subtext anyway.

PS

I used to be a Mani. Like the kickboxing Mohawk shaman in Brotherhood of the Wolves, only without the kickboxing Mohawk shaman part.

Hee. No, "Mely" bears no relationship to my real name.
