Awwwwwww. Dignity!Cat loves sponges too, but she doesn't befriend them in their natural habitat. She only elopes with them.

I don't know! It's a stinky sponge, so maybe he's doing the dog thing and perfuming himself with it, but maybe he just likes the texture. We're considering giving him his own sponge if it turns out the be the texture, since he doesn't seem to be biting or eating it (unlike plastic bags).

One of my mom's cats, Cleo, has an addiction to licking plastic grocery bags. ... Not eating them, just licking them.

One of my friends had a cat with a similar love. Apparently, when she was still dating her husband, she'd come over and this cat would be sitting on top of a pile of plastic bags, giving each individual bag a lick.

I first thought he was trying to get a nice dry path to walk on, but that pretty quickly didn't look to be the case. I wonder if it's important to him that it be damp. If you figure out what he likes about it, please let us know!
