Had to take Nefer back to the vet on Saturday so she could be sedated while they finished the exam on her and cleaned out her ears. So she came back all woozy, with no balance, and wanderlust - she couldn't settle down for more than a couple of minutes before getting back up and wandering again. And then during the night she got lonely or something and would wander into the bed room and yowl* until I patted the bed, then she'd haul herself up onto it and settle down on top of me** for a few minutes, then get up and wander off again.
She slept a great deal today (I wonder why *yawn*), in between following me around, and it wasn't until about 7 or 8PM tonight that she perked up, took a full bath, and started purring when I pet her. Back to normal, yay.
Sora, naturally, has been a little shit to her because she smells funny and was acting funny, hissing at her and viewing her with extra suspicion. His attitude today has been "Who cares that the other cat had to go to the vet? I was ALONE in the HOUSE for TWO WHOLE HOURS and the she came BACK and she was POSSESSED and then the CATSITTER came over to MEET US and I was SCARED and IT WAS AWFUL and WHY DOESN'T ANYONE BESIDES ME REALIZE MY PROBLEMS ARE MORE IMPORTANT?" But both cats and I got a short snooze on the couch this evening in between spates of Roomba-ing the living room.
I also read Bart Ehrman's Jesus, Interrupted: Revealing the Hidden Contradictions in the Bible (And Why We Don't Know About Them)
, which is a fascinating book about the historical approach to studying the New Testament, instead of the devotional. Recommended.
And now, videos.
Nefer, after she came home from the vet, recovering from sedation. Breaks my heart and makes me laugh at the same time. She couldn't turn her head to look in either direction without falling over.
Sora, yet again INTENT on HIS JOB. I was going to use YouTube's audio replacement thingy to put music to it that would make it funnier or something, but their audio servers are especially laggy today so I gave up.
And finally, here's Sora licking one of the microfiber chairs. Both cats do this. We have no idea why. Luckily, we discovered that if you get a brush and brush the spot vigorously once its dried, it pretty much goes away.
* We cannot shut the bedroom door all the way or Sora goes BANG BANG BANG on the door.
** And once on Toby.
