Just wanted to note that the Princess Diana manga is actually Chinese, as I found out when I read this utterly hilarious blog that summarizes each chapter and comments on it (which, of course, I can't find at this time). For added hilarity, the creator actually says that he had no choice but to draw Di and Charles as he does because in reality they're pretty ugly. Charles, I can see where he's coming from since he's no looker, but Princess Di? Wasn't she a fashion icon of her own?
haha but you are forgetting that the mangaka cometh from a land where the ideal of beauty is a tiny Asian girl with doe eyes, fair skin, and looks about as resilient as tofu. Princess Diana is beautiful; but compared to any generic Asian idol, she's a veritable Amazon woman.
I rarely make the distinction between manhua and manga, so I forgot to mention that yeah, it's done by Kao Yung, who is Taiwanese.
I'm surprised there weren't more Di comics out there; she was so popular! I remember when she and Charles came through our city on their honeymoon tour. I was a wee thing and we bought a rose to give the princess and they rode in a carriage down the street. Smells like shoujo to me! =p
For the record, I would SO give a magazine with the mock cover a second look. That mermaid cover, meh, not so much.

Wow. My first thought when I looked at the picture of Di from the manhua was that she pretty much was a shoujo character already...
