Home from con for today. No sales*. Don't know about the attendance - it was sparse for most of the day, but got a bit heavier about 5:30. Hopefully Saturday will be more busy.

I also got my Harajuku arm warmers in the mail today, and they should come in quite handy at the con tomorrow, as the hall I'm in is rather drafty. :)

* Not that I expected any, but it would have been nice.

I love those arm warmers. I have them in pink.

I considered pink, but ended up getting them in brown. :)

Your first thought: "Hey, those would be easy to reverse engineer."

Hmmm ... arm warmers have wool ... wool that will end up in sensitive places. Nope.

Sorry about the sales situation!

Not all the ones they sell have wool! :D

Non-woolen ones are definitely out there...I can't wear wool against my skin either, but I've got a few pairs of stripey Hello Kitty arm warmers in a nice non-irritating cotton/spandex blend. :)

(Are you looking for you or the YL? Hot Topic actually tends to have wrist/arm warmers in plain acrylic or cotton/spandex blends (mostly lots of solid black, black-with-colored stripes, or black with random punky/gothy prints and embellishments), and my Kitty-chan sets actually came from Claire's. If you're looking for something a little plainer in solid colors other than black, I just saw a stash of long cotton/spandex fingerless gloves at Macy's winter accessories department last week.)

Real cool...just curious why is it calles Harajuku? Is the style called Harajuku in the States?

The term does tend to get used a lot in English to describe youth street fashion, especially the colorful-layered-eclectic FRUiTS magazine sort of looks. Singer Gwen Stefani probably can get some of the blame for further popularizing the term in recent years -- she had a troupe of backup dancers called "the Harajuku Girls", and has a fashion and perfume line called "Harajuku Lovers".

Thank you! Now it makes sense what they mean by "Harajuku." For me Harajuku fashion means "on the edge VERY young people fashion."

Tabisocks imports them from Japan, and they're catering to the crowd that (a) knows of Harajuku fashion and (b) thinks it's cool. :D

I like their name Tabisocks too!! Although when you translate it becomes, Socksock(^^)

Hmm. Those might be nice for those days when it's cold enough that you want a little warmth, but not cold enough to bust out the leather gloves. (Well, motorcycle gauntlets, in my case. They keep everything from my fingertips to just below my elbows warm.)
