This reminds me of the House Calls feature in the Washington Posts's weekly home & garden section. There, a home owner complains about a particular room, and a designer takes up the challenge and does a drawing of a proposed remake, complete with notes and suggestions as to which paints, furniture, lighting etc. to use, as well as where to buy the stuff.
