That's not actually an issue. A fandom only needs to be nominated once to be considered for the list. Eligibility isn't determined by how many people request it, but by rarity -- as long as it has been requested in the first place.
For my part, if I see any of my fandoms moving into the '3 or 4 people requesting' territory, I'm going to change my submission so I can include an additional, rarer fandom I might be interested in. It seems a waste for 8 or 9 people to ask for 'Sandman' when 7 of those people could also be asking for something else way more obscure.
However, since people can change their votes, if there's only one nomination for a fandom, there's a very real chance that it might get changed. Note that as of now, Dokebi Bride is no longer on the list of nominations like it was this morning. :)
untrue_accounts says she only feels safe if a fandom's got 3 or more votes to it. :)
Enh. I'm honestly not that worried about it, especially because I'm already requesting the ones I want to receive and I'll only be changing any of the others at the 11th hour. The nominations just opened, they're going to fluctuate a lot right up until the deadline.
I'm not participating, so it's not fair that I should nominate. :) I'm not opposed to writing fic, but I'd rather have my first attempt at any sort of it not be for a challenge that I have to finish something for, if that makes sense.

(Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that someone else out there reads Nougami Neuro and it makes the cut...)
