First photos up!

I put up the first photos from the Japan trip - the ones dealing with the samba festival and the temple complex at Asakusa in Tokyo.

I like the samba participants - they remind me of the carnival dance groups (some complete with their own live steel bands) we have in our local parades, esp. for the 4th of July.



I think your nifty plants growing in the half-barrels in water are lotuses, but their leaves are shriveling up, either just because it's time for them to die anyway or because of the heat.
