Yaaay!
A $20 SD card reader and I was able to get the photos from the two SD cards I used in Japan. There are still a lot of individual pictures that got corrupted, but at least the ones that were OK to start with didn't get messed up. Yay.
Now to go work on the photos. Expect them to be posted at some point in the near future.

movingfinger, I tried the PhotoRescue, but it turns out that the cards themselves were unaffected, and the problem lies in my camera, so the corrupted pictures never saved correctly in the first place, so there's nothing to rescue. Ah well.)
