Wow, yeah, that auto-transcription was a thing of beauty. Yeah, the basic point is that a thunderstorm took out the ethernet port on my modem, so while my modem thinks that it's getting signal, it's not sending any of that signal to my computer. And that also means that I will probably be a couple of days on getting net access back at home, because I can't take today or Tuesday off of work. :) And I'm not looking forward to getting on the phone with the cable company and doing all the cable swapping that I did last night again. I know that they need to go through the full script with everyone, because so many people who claim they have technical know-how really don't, but aarg! My apartment's cable outlets and plugs and lights are arranged in the least efficient manner ever, so cable-swapping involves a hell of a lot of work.

I had scheduled yesterday to sit down and mail out all the various things that I am way the hell behind on mailing out, so naturally all my bloody addreses are in my email account. I'll be pulling those out today and getting them on my thumb drive, yes. :)

And now I'm all emo because nobody answered the quiz I texted to LJ. :(:(:(

I did! Emo averted!

Also: cable companies are teh devil.

Yay!

Yes. And I'm pretty much stuck with them because they're the only option for highspeed internet in my apartment complex - I can't get any DSL due to arcane and complicated rules that I expect boil down to "we paid someone a hell of a lot of money to keep DSL out of this area so we could have a monopoly". Once I finally move out of here - and I'm thinking next spring for that - I'm going to cite that and the complex's habit of putting eviction notices on my door if I forget to pay a FIFTEEN DOLLAR water bill as my reasons.

I had not a clue as to what to answer #1 on the quiz when I first saw it this morning, but a memory came floating up between the news clips and the market report ...

So I'm bummed about your cable connection! For one thing, I selfishly wanted to natter on about SDK ... . Well, currently my version of mom's chicken soup as a panacea for problems is more icons, so here's an SDK one for you:

And don't worry about the other issue - as long as I know what's going down, you can wait to send it 'til we get back.

Weeeeeeeee, Hotaru! XD Thank you!

I may have to formulate an LJ quiz for the movie question, because people seem to lick tickyboxes and radio buttons more than text.

Wow, that was an interesting typo for "like."

Anyway, it's sort of vaguely a trick question, because whatever my favorite movie is tends to be more of "what is my favorite movie right now" since there's a small pool of movies that rotate in and out of that position depending on my mood. :) However, once The Movie Wot I Am Thinking Of is revealed, perhaps the reasons why I happen to like the 11th Division more than any other of the Gotei 13 will be slightly more clear. XD

OK, good - I have Guilt over that, as I am way behind on mailing all sorts of stuff out at the moment. XD I need to print out a bunch of addresses, then sit and watch movies or anime while stuffing envelopes and packages and slapping address labels on them.

* And feel free to natter about SDK - my responses will just be delayed. ;_;

Oh, I've started nattering! But it's better with some give and take ... it'll keep.

Maaan, there are too damn many blondes with red headbands. That icon ALSO looks like Claude from Star Ocean: The Second Story. Or Cless from Tales of Phantasia.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2007-07-30 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Are they also space cadets? :D

Claude is *literally* a space cadet. XD; As in, he's a cadet. On a spaceship.

And for good measure, Cless from Tales of Phantasia. I can't speak about his personality because I haven't played that game yet, but I WILL.

But in Samurai Deeper Kyo, we also have a blond dude with a red blindfold, just to mix it up a little.

You can tell Hotaru, though, because his mouth his always open. (A number of fan comics have speculated that he has sinus issues ... .)

*sneeerk*

I like that explanation - it warms the cockles of my black little heart to think that a basically god-level fighting machine has issues with post-nasal drip.

Hee! Hotaru has so many, many issues ... I'm very much looking forward to the official version of the parts where Kamijyo really gets into the details of his upbringing (darnit ... I just checked, and that's not 'til volume 30).

Did you get through vol. 23?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2007-07-30 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
XD Yes, I got through 23. I read about two pages and conked out Saturday night, but picked it up Sunday morning.

I'll have to reread the whole series at some future point, because I know I was driving through so fast that I don't remember details, but there comes a point when detail's not important, just MORE MORE MORE. XD (I did that with Bleach and Fruits Basket - went too fast the first time through, then read it again more slowly.)

[personal profile] chomiji 2007-07-30 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)

I've actually done that with all the manga series, but I started on SDK long enough ago that I've re-read the whole thing at least 3 times, and my favorite parts more than that. (Favorite parts would be a good thing to natter about, I guess.)

The blogging process is making me go back through Fruits Basket and Bleach in a more careful way, which I think is a Good Idea.

(I had to check about vol. 23 because I was about to say, with regard to having to wait for vol. 30 for Hotaru's screwy home life, that I wanted to chomp on my sleeve like Akari - and then remembered that you might not have seen that yet!)

[identity profile] rayechu.livejournal.com 2007-07-30 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Welcome back! I didn't answer the quiz, because I rarely watch movies, so even if you did mention your favorite movie I would have no clue what it was.
