rachelmanija just posted a
loose itinerary for our trip to Japan, with links to various places. :) Go take a look (and if you're in or near one of those areas at one of those times and want to meet up for lunch or whatever, feel free to contact us. :D)

(Though, pathetically enough, if I were to go to Japan right now most my initial attention would be to getting certain doujinshi and items that I can't find on the internet and want like burning. As opposed to, say, culture? Stupid fangirlishness increasing my lamer quotient.)

Anyways, since you got your tix as close as you did, what did it cost you? I've been saving money since we got our income tax money back and want to make sure what we're looking at when it comes to flight prices. I did check them out awhile back when I thought I was going this yr.
I want to go next spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom since it seems the Japanese ppl know how to party during that time. *lol* Plus I'd like to do two weeks since I'm pretty tight on how much vacation time I take. It's sad when the supervisor is nearly begging me when I plan on taking some days off.
I just hope between now and then I can get someone to go with me though a friend of mine just left today for Japan for a month vacation. I think it will be such an awesome experience.

If you want to stay in Tokyo, we are at the cheapest hotel in Tokyo - the New Koyo (http://www.newkoyo.jp/) at basically $28 a night. Rachel's stayed there before and reports that it's not skanky. :) And at $28/night in Tokyo, we can afford to splurge a bit on other places.
If you travel in cherry-blossom season, I think you might find higher prices in places, just because it's a high-travel season, but OTOH it's cherry blossom season in Japan. XD
