So far, Sephiroth has handed my ass to me on a platter twice. I think my problem is that my lousy TV has the sound balance off so I can't hear him saying "Descend Heartless Angel"* in time to get the hell away from him.

Mind you, I'm mostly distracted because it uses the same music as FFVII, which means I am now singing THIS during the fight, which is not good for the concentration and probably just pisses Sephiroth off.


* yes, I know it's slightly garbled and fairly quick - on the bright side, I can't actually ID Lance Bass as his voice, so I don't get distracted by going "Lance Bass?!"

Indeed :). I beat Sephiroth by cheating....When my hands got tired, I handed the controller to my boyfriend....and when he got tired he handed it back. So I must say, I had help.

I was about to say that exact thing. Bastard does it KHII, too. I didn't realize I was about to trigger a fight first time I walked up to him and he took me out in one hit. Just, ouch.

I want to play KHII, and even got a copy to sit on top of my television to mock me until I finish KH, but ... I've got to get through the final boss fights first, otherwise I'll never get around to finishing them. XD

I've saved the game right before I fight Sephiroth in a couple of saved-game slots, in case I decide to skip him for now and finish up, then come back to him later.

I have one of those for KHII because the mini-games were driving me nuts. Someday I will go back and finish them so I can see sooper-special extra ending.

No, since there weren't enough people going "Yes! Yes! Me too! I'll help!" I had several people sign up to be on the Sooper Speshul Filter for it, and none of them ever commented. No way would I be able to handle it by myself. :)

You can't hear it the same way again, ever. XD Luckily, the Advent Children version of the song picks different lyrics from the Carmina Burana to sing, so when you want to be all serious-Sephiroth, you can listen to that one. XD

Yes, the music is distracting. Um, in KH II, when you finally meet Sephiroth after mopey emo Cloud and such, um, well, you did good if you get in a shot. I never beat him in KH II. I am sure you can, it's just too hard. So what did you think of the game after you beat it? Did you like Chernabog?

Chernabog was significantly easier than the walkthrough I was following led me to believe, but I think I was at level 77 or something by that point, and the walkthrough guy was at 48ish. XD

I was also expecting the Final Boss Fight with the Ansem!ship to be much harder than it was, and was grumbling that there were no save points so I'd have to go through the cut scene and the earlier fights again if he kicked my ass and then ... whoa, it's over.

Ansem would be hotter if it weren't for that bizarre pointy hair-thing he's got going on.

Lol, my thoughts exactly. In KH II there is a rather nice portrait of Ansem in Hollow Bastion. I believe it is without the weird hey my head's some sort architectural movement that hasn't caught on yet pointy pyramid. I was just wondering if Chernabog was a let down for you as well, because I was disappointed.

And your reports on KH are making me want to go and get it, despite a complete adversion to classic Disney characters...

(is it worth playing for someone who has no interest in Disney, but has worked through most of the FF games?)

Hmmm. Hard to say, that. You tend to encounter about half Disney and half Squeenix characters. I've never played any other FF games, but people tell me it follows the same sort of plot in general as most, with betrayal-by-friend and ... er, whatever else the typical plot has. Most of the antagonists with personality are Disney antagonists, but you don't actually encounter them very much. You can, at times, put Disney characters into your party - well, you get Donald Duck and Goofy to start with and for most of it - but you can also ignore them if you want, except for one or two times when you need one of them in your party to access some area.

I'd say it's worth buying a used copy if you get a good deal on it. :)
