Not sure - in the middle of the Hades Cup right now and I've leveled up once or twice. I'm around 75ish. I don't have to do Sephiroth right after the cup - if I manage to beat it, I *think* I can go off and level up/replace potions/read GameFAQs and the like.
Wow, if you're at 75, you should have no problem. I think I was 46 or 48 when I beat him. It was a long battle, but I got it done. I couldn't have been more than 48, though, because that's the level I beat the game at. ^^;
I am so far unsable to get the Phantom or Kurt Zisa, so I am unsure (because I FAIL at videogames, it seems), but I'm giving up on them and going for the Ice Titan and Sephiroth now. :)
Phantom and Kurt Zisa are optional bosses in Neverland and Agrabah respectively, and are both FRICKIN' HARD. The walkthrough I'm using says "If you can beat Kurt Zisa you're reasdy for Sephiroth!" which really, really scares me.
Ah if they are optional I doubt I will be doing them, especially if they are hard. I have noticed with the monsters that I can hit the x button a lot and kill I am fine, but when it comes to roll-dodging and using magic I am pretty screwed.
I advise going into Customize and assigning three spells to the three shape buttons so you can press L1 and immediately access them. Which three spells depends more-or-less on your style of play and what you're up against. :)
I never use Guard or Dodge-Roll. Which means that I think I'm going to find it hard against the Ice Titan and Sephiroth. :)
Oh yeah I did that. It's not like I can't use spells so much as the strategy guide says to use Aero and dodgeroll, and I like to just buttonsmash. I think I had Fire, Blizzard, and Cure assigned.
Instead, I specialized in abilities and AP UPped and equipped as many as I possibly could, and ended up using those more than spells. Although I may de-equip Trinity Limit - it serves a lot of damage but if DOnald and Goofy are near me, it sucks out *all* of our MP. :P
My strategy before the big battles is to equip the other guys with a ton of potions and ethers, as they like to throw them around like nothing, but then I usually don't have to worry about healing anyone. I usually just charge in, throw all of my spells and then hack and slash from there. I don't remember even doing a trinity thing, but I might just not be far enough in the game. My strategy guide says to take Zisa down destroy the 2 orbs, and then when he falls to the ground go after his head.
Aurgh, I hate gold as well and that is the only jewelery I ever get for presents. I'm not going to turn it down, because it would be rude, but blah. My birthstone is amethyst, why would you even put that with gold to begin with?
Thankfully sister hates gold, too, and my grandmother seems to realize that sapphire should never touch the stuff. They're the only people who buy me jewelry. ^^; You could let your family know that you have enough gold to match most of your outfits but you don't have anything silver or white gold to go with others?
Nah, my immedediate family knows my personality well enough that they don't buy me anything so girly as jewelery. It's the sorta distant, don't know how to spell my name correctly, but not so distant relatives. But I would rather have jewelery then bath sets, so I won't complain, as the clothes for my body size tend to be in colors that match gold moreso then silver.
OOOOH, good luck with Sephiroth! That's a totally hard AND long battle (wait till you see how many freaking health bars he has) and he will totally annihilate you and leave you broken and bleeding, but ya know, it hurts so good. You will persevere, even though you won't want too....God Sephiroth is hot. I was 60 when I beat him and it was hard, probably because I was too distracted by how hot he is and trying to understand why Lance Bass was doing his hotness's voice.
I found Phantom a lot harder than any of the other boss battles in the game. Not just because of the time restraint, but because the flying controls in Neverland suck and he has a lot of alternating immunities. ><; It was frustrating, to say the least.
Yeah, it's hard. And I can't even get to the clock in time to Stopra it and keep DOnald and Peter Pan from getting taken out. Not that I care about Peter Pan, because he's highly annoying, but it would be nice to be able to keep them in the fight.
I can try to help, but some people are picky about figuring battle strategy out themselves, so I'll white the text out. You know, just to be safe. ^^;
...There's a few battle strategies that are more coherent than me, if you want in depth help. FFinsider.net is a good resource, or it was a while back.
This fight made me love Curaga. I finally beat him but it took me like 20 tries. The damn mystery goo was my least favorite part of that game. I think it was those mages that had them? Whatever I remeber having to go back to Atlantica for them...Oh yeah and the lucid gems. The Phantom actually wasn't too hard after I finally figured out the trick with the spells and Donald stuck around for longer than a second.
The mushrooms were the goo-carriers. I figured out the trick of respawning in the Deep Jungle, and that mushrooms were more likely to show up the first few times you went through it then on subsequent times, and after that managed to get them.

I'm this high because it took me FOREVER to get all the ingredients necessary to synthesize the last few items. :D

Yeah, that's what I've been doing, but Zisa heals and I haven't been able to do enough damage to his head to make it permanent.
