Aww your icon is too cute!

Thank you ^_^ I used to have a bunch of them, but then I forgot to pay the LJ racketeers. [livejournal.com profile] jemppu makes 'em.

[identity profile] rayechu.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
I was considering getting a paid accout ifor a year. Do you not recommend it?

[identity profile] rayechu.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man that sucks! I know exaclty how you feel. I can't wait to get my computer back tomorrow, so I can get back to all my normal websites.

I KNOW!
No LJ, no questionable content, no paperbackswap, or librarything! Which is why I am up late now making up for lost time.

I was without power for nearly 4 days in 108 degrees in July.

I nearly cut off my fingers from sheer boredom- if I couldn't type, what was the point of having them anymore?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
I would probably be attempting to construct an internet out of twigs and leaves.

I tried using my cell phone. It takes a VERY long time to load anything. It was like a trip back to 1992 and my 12k dialup modem.

I'm such an old fart that I remember when 9600 baud was hot stuff.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-12-31 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
I think my dad's first modem was 2400. It was mine, too: I inherited it when he died. XD My next one was significantly faster.

[identity profile] darksumomo.livejournal.com 2006-12-31 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
I remember 2400 baud. *shudders* Luckily my first modem was 9600 baud back in 1994 or 1995.

I think it was circa late-80s. He died in 1992, and I used it once or twice, but didn't get another modem until I went to grad school in 1994, whereupon my computer came with a blazing-fast comparatively 28K. But the grad student housing I lived in was wired for Ethernet during my first semester, so I didn't use it a whole lot. :)

I'm going to have to send in my computer for repairs. Can you imagine my dismay when I found out I actually have to SEND IT IN to do this? Like through the mail!

ACK! Horrible!

You think you got withdrawal? With my move to my new flat on October 24th I didn't get my internet back until December 28th!
With only browsing from the school pcs now and again keeping me alive and able to tell people I wasn't dead yet :P

Grin and bear it, you ain't seen nothing yet!

;-)

Damn, those storms must have done all their damage up north. =/ I was in South Texas last night, and all we got were some very scary looking thunderheads rolling across the sky.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
There were tornadoes near Waco. :)

[identity profile] flamika.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy hell. X_x I'm so glad I wasn't up here last night, then. I'm terrified of torandoes.
