Neverland, arg!

I ahve dedicated today to Kingdom Hearts, because in my mad rush around yesterday, I bought a used copy og KH II, and I want to get to it. I finally got through Halloween Town, and Neverland has appeared ... but I can't figure out how to get to it. And none of the walkthroughs I can find have any help. Aargh!

So I'm consoling myself and leveling up by doing the Pegasus Cup over and over. I managed to beat Leon and Yuffie all by myself, but I have yet to beat them on the time trial. But I also found out that if I went through the Pegasus Cup the normal way, fighting them and beating them, I could gain about 1500 EXP - just a little more and I shall be at level 45.

But I still can't figure out how to get to Neverland. Dammit.

I think you need to be swallowed by the whale from Pinnochio first, if I remember correctly.

It swallowed me at one point after Neverland appeared when I was flying from world to world, but I wandred around inside bashing Heartless for a while, and nothing else happened. :/

You're supposed to run into Riku again in the whale. It has been a while since I played it, so I don't quite remember which direction you go, but I think that you need to take the upper entrance in the mouth to follow the rooms to where the boss fight is. The bashing path is the lower, obvious entrance. (Upper and lower as in right on top of each other.)

Hrm. I did that. The room had a bunch of Heartless in it, I bashed them all, and wandered around in circles looking for the exit for a while because accidentally finding it. :D

Okay, I just dug out my old Brady guide, and I'm starting to remember. In Monstro, you need to go into the area which has chamber 5 and 6. There are secret areas you can only get to by jumping from platform to platform. You're trying to get to Chamber 4 and from there to the bowels. (Ick) I think that once you've finished this one you should be able to move on to Neverland (because you'll need to talk to Riku here before you see again on Captain Hook's ship.

I found that stage on a walkthrough:

Your next destination is Monstro. This should be to the left of Agrabah. It
should come flying by your ship and swallow you whole. Once inside, head in
a bit deeper to initiate a cutscene. Almost every treasure chest within the
area will be currently unreachable. You'll be able to access them after you
obtain the High Jump ability.

Enter through the passage into Chamber 1 to initiate a cutscene. Proceed to
Chamber 3, and then open the treasure chest to obtain a Mega-Ether. Proceed
back to Chamber 1. Jump up to the surface above, and then enter Chamber 2.

First, you need to be careful not to fall down to the area below. Before we
enter into Chamber 5, you can jump across to the ledge in the distance, and
then to a second nearby ledge holding a treasure chest. Open thest chest to
obtain a Megalixir.

Use the nearby barrels to reach the surface you just came from. Proceed to
Chamber 5, then Chamber 6. Use the nearby barrel to throw against the wall
on the surface above. Jump on the barrel to reach the ledge above.

Here you will find a treasure chest that contains a Torn page. Continue to
the bottom of this chamber to find a treasure chest. Open up the treasure
chest to find a Dispel-G. Enter into Chamber 5 to find two more chest that
contain a Dispel-G and Mega-Ether.

Further up are two more treasure chests. Obtain a Mythril from the one on
the ledge, while the other on top of the barrel contains Dalmations 79,
80, & 81. You will need to use a barrel to reach both the treasure chests.
Enter Chamber 4, and then enter into the Bowels.

I will also mention that Monstro's anatomy is greviously fucked up. Don't expect it to make any sense! :D

Indeed. I don't remember the details anymore, but I remember you went through each room several times in several different sections, trying not to accidently fall back to a lower area and having to start over.

Might have to go back to Traverse Town and get your warp engine upgraded again. IIRC you find one warp gummin in Tarzan world and the the other warp gummi in Halloweentown.

/I could be wrong.
