A Day in the Life of [personal profile] telophase's Friendslist

Just to give you an idea of what I see as I scroll through my friendslist, here's a random, unattributed sampling of what I see RIGHT NOW:

Now to remember how to do that bio thing.

I will not cooperate with this demand.

Why have I never watched boondock saints before?

"ABBBBBBBBBBBB! TBQQNZZVG GUNG FBA BS N OVGPU JBA! G_G"
(ROT13'ed, since it was pointed out that it could be identified as a spoiler. http://www.rot13.com if you want to see it.)

Luckily, pretty boys bleeding and tied up with wire make it all better.

I really hope it can get fixed okay, without it costing an arm and a leg.

I just need to learn how to use it and train it for my voice.

The problem is volume.

Sometime next year is not specific enough for my shopping plans.

It's just as I remembered: B-splines are better than sliced bread.

Generally for fun and not profit!

LMAO! Baby T-shirts

*fist shakery*

Eeeee!

Well, there goes my Art History grade.

time to go order soup.

It even has a title.

♥ Nice rack.

I love the snapshots of memory, which often sound like half-remembered dreams:

If I used these colors on a regular basis, I think my eyes would burn.

Current Mood: gobsmacked

The palace at Knossos was built during the Late Minoan period, and stands as one of the great palaces of the Bronze Age.

Feel free to take/alter.

And in other news, I actually decided to watch another episode of Rome isntead of Top Chef. Because I know that TC will be on, and on, and on, and on, and on, in the next week, and I can catch it then, and I NEED MY SCRUFFY ROMAN LEGIONNARIES RIGHT NOW.

Psst: You might want to get rid of the all-caps one; I can guess what it's about, and it's spoilery for a show airing tonight. :)

Oh, bleh. :P

ROT13ed, for your spoiler-free delectation.

[identity profile] sophia-helix.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. I may be wrong -- I'm just paranoid about that particular show. :)

Waugh NURBS! Sounds like a Maya user to me. May I ask who's posting about Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines? ;)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
It's not friendslocked, so I have no compunction pointing you to [livejournal.com profile] yhlee. :)

[identity profile] yhlee.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Howderoo. Alas, I do not even have Maya. I am using B-splines in a vector illustration program called Expression (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Expression)--it's currently owned by Micro$oft, although I first heard of it when it was under Creature House. M$ actually distributes the working versions of the thing for free (Creature House Expression used to be a ~$300 app), Mac OS Classic, OS X, and Windows. Anyway, Expression has an option for B-splines along with Bézier curves. I find Bézier curves a lot more annoying, although it may just be lack of habituation.

Shutting up now. :-D

[identity profile] frostedelves.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello hello! :) Nifty-- I think I was pointed that way once, but I know I haven't played with it. I will have to see if I can find it again, or get it if I inexplicably failed to do that earlier (probably through some pressing distraction). Anyway, very cool, nice to meet you-- vector graphics really, really aren't my thing but I'm trying to learn to use them. I am therefore always impressed by people who can use the things well.

I must now run finish packing, buying a wig, bathing the dog and taking midterm exams so I can fly away tomorrow, or I'd try to think of something more interesting to say back. Alas, I cannot.

[identity profile] frostedelves.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Er, when I said "find it again," I meant on my hard drive. I did see and follow your thoughtful link, and thank you. ;)

[identity profile] yhlee.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't claim to use this stuff well--I'm just starting out. Not an artist; but I do sketch and so on for fun.

I think you might have fun with Expression's Skeletal Strokes, though; the manual covers them quite clearly, and they are neat.

Best wishes with the exams and other tasks!

Luckily, pretty boys bleeding and tied up with wire make it all better.

You cannot deny the truth of that observation.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
It was that line occurring on the f-list right after the existential cry of despair that made me think of doing this.

[identity profile] llamameeljueves.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
LOL....Luckily you sound like a very sane person.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Except for my current addiction to scruffy Roman legionnaries. XD

[identity profile] derjmeister.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
That's okay, I don't think Top Chef is going to be as good this season, anyway. *pines for Stephen* I'll still watch it, though, because I have no life.

[identity profile] cicer.livejournal.com 2006-10-19 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha! I recognized mine right away, and now I can't figure out if I just have a good memory or knew that was one of the things I was most likely to say, out of all of these. XD
