Good lord, there's a HunterxHunter musical. I shouldn't be surprised. I really, really shouldn't. Via [livejournal.com profile] jedera.

ETA: Although the question really should be: why hasn't anyone posted any clips from either of the Saiyuki musicals?

That is a VERY good question. I've only read reviews and seen a bunch of pictures but as far as clips go? NOTHING.

There's also a naruto musical, and I'm pretty sure there are clips on youtube lol. XD

Yeah I've been rambling about it in my journal. there are 2 musicals (well 3 but that hasn't been subbed yet). Hunter x Hunter Musical, and The Nightmare of Zaoldyeck :3

I got them from AnimeSuki.com by seaching Hunter x Hunter.

The second one is really good :D

All the main characters (Gon, Killua, Leorio, Kurapika, and Hisoka) anre played by their voice actors >^_^< Very cool/entertaining

There are TWO Hunter x Hunter musicals, actually. XD

I've seen the first one fansubbed in its entirety, and it's actually kind of cool, because they have the original voice cast from the anime playing their characters on stage. So all the voices are totally correct! Yeah, it's cheesy, but it's amusing just the same. And there's a lot of fan rapport and in-jokes.

Oh gods, there are Saiyuki musicals?

::does not know whether to laugh or cry, changes subject instead::

Last night, while searching for ideas on patterns to mod for an Utena costume, I stumbled across this REALLY AMAZING page on doing a Rose Bride gown. And then I looked at the URL. I bow before your mad costuming skillz, and after looking at many many cosplay photos, you're right: satin does look like crap.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Yes, there are. :D

Heee! :D Satin looks cheap and tacky when light reflects off of it, and it doesn't travel well, to boot: you shove it in a suitcase and it gets wrinkles and creases in it. I don't know why people keep on using it.

That was the last big costume I did: I haven't done anything else in years.

On eBay I saw the most dreadful Utena dueling costume made from satin. I expected it to fray just from me staring at the photo. And yes, it was wrinkled; the camera flash brought THAT out really well. :P

That was the last big costume I did: I haven't done anything else in years.

Went out with a bang, though, 'cause that was a freakin' AWESOME Rose Bride. ::fangirls at you::

Those are all movies, I think, but they should provide you with some entertainment....

Ahaha, I had both up on my webspace, but that was a while ago. (See also: Bleach, Naruto, Prince of Tennis, Sailor Moon.)

I love the HxH musicals with an entirely irrational love. I think the second one is better than the first, if only for the scene where Hisoka (who steals every scene he's in) makes the Zaoldyeck bodyguards dance in sync.
